Diversity & Inclusion Mission Statement
Our mission is to intentionally and collaboratively develop, deepen and nurture a departmental culture which celebrates and fosters diversity and inclusion for our student-athletes and staff. Â
Â
We seek the opportunity to engage on these issues, through trainings and enhanced dialogue with Mason faculty, students, student-athletes and community partners. Â
Â
We strive to be diverse and inclusive both on and off the fields of competition through thoughtful and purposeful activities that recognize diversity and promote inclusion from all walks of life. Â
Â
As members of the diversity and inclusion committee for George Mason Athletics, we aim to foster a dynamic, supportive environment which allows us to stand in solidarity with marginalized communities. We will actively work to make George Mason University and Intercollegiate Athletics a network which empowers each person to connect with each and grow together.Â
Â
We are all Patriots. We are one community. We are #MasonNation.Â
The programs and services offered by George Mason University are open to all who seek them. George Mason does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, ethnic national origin (including shared ancestry and/or ethnic characteristics), sex, disability, military status (including veteran status), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, pregnancy status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
