2022-23:

Finished with a 25-9 overall record
Earned his career 50th victory (50-15) against Lock Haven on February 11.
Messer finished 4-2 in the MAC, including a 3-1 decision against Edinboro's #22 Jared McGill (Jan. 21).
The sophomore earned a technical fall against Cleveland State's JR Reed (Jan. 28).
Finished third at 174 pounds at the Keystone Classic (Nov. 20) with a 5-1 record (earned two MDs and a TF).
MAC Championships:
- Earned fifth place
- One of four Patriots to compete in the semi-finals
- Won by major decision in the opening round against Kent State's Mason Karpinski (Kent), 10-2.
- Avenged a 3-1 regular season loss to Rider's Michael Wilson with a 7-4 decision
- The semifinal match with Central Michigan's Alex Cramer went to sudden victory where top-seeded Cramer earned the fall (6:37)
- NWCA Scholar All-America honor
- 2023 Wrestling Academic All MAC Team.

2021-22:

Tremendous season for the freshman, finishing with a 27-9 overall record.
In his first MAC Championship Messer finished fourth, the Patriots second-best finish in the MAC tournament in the three-year history for Mason.
Finished 15^th in NCAA D1 technical falls with 5 on the season.
Won the championship at 174 pounds at Southeast Open (11/7).
Won three of five matches at Keystone Classic (Nov. 21), against Jeremy Seymour (Mason), Alex Marciniak (SH), Thomas Fitz (App St.).
NWCA Scholar All-America honor

Prep:

Wrestled four years and played varsity football one year at Wadsworth High School.
Earned first team all county and was a state champion in Ohio.
In the classroom, Messer was a scholar-athlete and Academic All Ohio
Finished with a 139-26 record.
