The 2026-27 season is getting started, and there's plenty to look forward to across George Mason Athletics.

In the coming weeks, fans will get a first look at the full Atlantic 10 schedules for Mason's men's and women's basketball teams, setting the stage for another exciting season at EagleBank Arena.

The excitement begins Oct. 6 with the Basketball Tip-Off Breakfast, celebrating the start of a new season for our Men's and Women's Basketball programs. The event will be held at the Country Club of Fairfax with breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by a program at 8:30 a.m.

Before basketball tips off on Nov. 2 with a doubleheader at EagleBank Arena, there will be plenty happening around campus, including our fall sports schedules. The Patriots men's soccer team will have post-match fireworks after their game against rival George Washington at 7 pm on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Then, on Oct. 20, Mason will celebrate a major milestone with the groundbreaking of the new Basketball and Academic Performance Center, marking an exciting investment in the future of George Mason Athletics and its student-athletes.

When fans return to EagleBank Arena, they will notice new courtside seating options that place them closer to the action than ever before, creating an intimate atmosphere and bringing Patriot supporters into the heart of the game. Expanded donor hospitality spaces provide premium opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support the programs that continue to elevate George Mason Basketball.

Families will find EagleBank Arena more welcoming than ever, with the addition of a new Family Fun Zone that gives young Patriots a place to engage before and during games. Fans looking to gather with friends and fellow supporters can enjoy the new beer garden, creating another exciting destination that adds to the energy throughout the arena.
Perhaps the most impactful change will be one fans can hear.

The student section has been moved alongside the Green Machine pep band, uniting two of Mason's loudest and most passionate groups into one powerful force. The result will be a louder, more intimidating atmosphere designed to create one of the best home-court advantages in the Atlantic 10.
