FAIRFAX, Va. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its 2026 NCAA Division I Track & Field All-Academic Teams and All-Academic Athletes, recognizing individuals and programs that excelled both academically and competitively.
Both the George Mason men's and women's track & field programs earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. The women's program has now received the distinction for 15 consecutive seasons, while the men's program has earned the award in 14 of the past 15 years, including each of the last 11 seasons.
To be recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0. The George Mason women posted a 3.47 cumulative GPA, while the men's team finished the academic year with a 3.15 cumulative GPA.
In addition to the team honors, nine Patriots were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.
On the women's side, Alina Florou-Dimitriadou, Kennedy Drish, and Kailynn Tyson each earned the honor for the second time in their careers. Ella Semple and Abby Weening received the recognition for the first time.
For the men's team, Davian Burke earned All-Academic honors for the second time, while Alex DeRoussel, Kellen La Roche, and Jayden Smith each received the recognition for the first time.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. Athletically, recipients must have met the organization's performance criteria during the indoor season, the outdoor season, or both. Indoor qualifiers must have finished the year ranked among the top 96 nationally in an NCAA championship individual event or among the top 48 in a championship relay event. Outdoor qualifiers must have qualified for the NCAA East or West Preliminary Round in an individual or relay event or finished the season ranked among the top 48 in the NCAA East or West region.
