FAIRFAX, Va. — The George Mason men's tennis team has been ranked No. 9 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Rankings, capping off one of the most successful seasons in program history.

The Patriots finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 10-7 overall record and a 1-2 mark in Atlantic 10 competition. George Mason's 10 victories marked the program's first 10-win season since 2018-19 and highlighted a year filled with historic milestones.

Throughout the season, the Patriots continued to raise the standard for the program. George Mason earned its first-ever national ITA ranking, debuting at No. 72 in February, and secured the highest seed in program history for the Atlantic 10 Championship as the No. 4 seed.

"Finishing the season ranked No. 9 in the [Atlantic] Region is a reflection of the commitment and growth our student-athletes demonstrated throughout the year", Head Coach Jimmy Davis said. "This was a season of several program milestones, including earning our first national ITA ranking and securing the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship. This group competed with tremendous energy, represented George Mason with pride, and continued to raise the standard for our program. We're proud of what we accomplished this season and excited about the direction we're headed."

The Patriots also received significant recognition from the Atlantic 10 Conference, with four student-athletes earning postseason honors.

Freshman Edgar Vilain was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie of the Year after collecting three Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards during the spring season. Junior Deniz Okyay earned Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team honors and was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team. Senior Monil Lotlikar garnered Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team recognition after leading the Patriots with a 14-7 overall singles record. Graduate student Niza Simunyola was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for his excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
