FAIRFAX, Va. – Five members of the George Mason softball team were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, the organization announced. Representing the Patriots are Tess Altevers Harris, Kamryn Inman, Abbey Lane, Harlowe Nigh and Madi Sobota.
The CSC Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball student-athletes in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale, and compete in at least 90 percent of the institution's games or start at least 66 percent of contests. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched a minimum of 35 innings. Last season, fewer than five percent of student-athletes across all sports and divisions earned the distinction.
Senior Tess Altevers Harris completed her final two seasons of collegiate softball as a George Mason Patriot. She started all 49 games she played, including 36 at third base, and earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors on February 10. Altevers Harris batted .315 and led the team in OPS (1.087), doubles (12), triples (3), home runs (10), slugging percentage (.650), and walks drawn (21). She ranked among the top 10 in the conference in 10 offensive categories while maintaining a 3.805 cumulative GPA as an Economics major.
Senior Kamryn Inman started all 51 games in center field for the Patriots this season. She ranked third on the team in stolen bases (15) and putouts (95), fourth in runs scored (21) and RBIs (20), and fifth in hits (27). Inman maintained a 3.87 GPA while majoring in Community Health.
Sophomore Abbey Lane made 32 appearances and 25 starts in the circle during the 2026 season. A two-time Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week selection, Lane posted a 3.17 ERA and led the Patriots in wins (11), innings pitched (139.1), complete games (8), strikeouts (78), WHIP (1.45) and shutouts (3). She also ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in innings pitched. At the plate, Lane batted .268 with 15 hits, including three doubles and one triple, while scoring six runs. Lane maintained a 3.614 GPA as a Community Health major.
Harlowe Nigh made 21 appearances in the circle, including four starts, and pitched 32.2 innings during the 2026 season. Off the field, Nigh maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminology.
Madi Sobota appeared in 39 games and made 36 starts for the Patriots. She recorded 17 runs, 21 hits, six doubles, two triples, three home runs and 13 RBIs. Sobota posted the fourth-highest OPS on the team at .797 while maintaining a 3.98 GPA as an English major.
The five honorees continue George Mason's tradition of excellence both on the field and in the classroom, exemplifying the commitment to academic and athletic achievement that defines the Patriots softball program.
