EUGENE, Ore. – George Mason track & field will be represented by graduate student Kennedy Drish and senior Abby Weening at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held June 10-13 at University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
Drish earned her spot at the national meet with a standout performance at the NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky. The graduate student cleared 4.27m in the women's pole vault to finish fourth overall, securing one of the East Region's 12 qualifying spots for the championship.
Weening qualified automatically for the women's heptathlon after recording a personal-best score of 5622 points at the Duke Invitational in April, ranking among the nation's top 24 competitors this outdoor season and bypassing first-round competition.
This year will mark the first NCAA National Championships appearance for both Drish and Weening. They are also the first female athletes to represent the Patriots at the prestigious event since Annabelle Eastman in 2021.
