FAIRFAX, Va. – Three members of the George Mason softball team earned postseason recognition from the Atlantic 10 Conference, highlighted by senior Logan Pickford being named to First Team All-Conference and to the A-10 All-Academic Team. Senior Tess Altevers Harris earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season, while freshman Alyssa Hopkins was selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.
Senior catcher Logan Pickford collected the first all-conference recognition of her career after turning in one of the top all-around seasons in the conference. Pickford started all 51 games for the Patriots, including 33 behind the plate, and led the team in runs scored (40), hits (53), RBI (31), total bases (95), on-base percentage (.446), runners caught stealing (5), and stolen bases (16). She also ranked second on the team in triples (3), home runs (9), slugging percentage (.621), and walks (20), while adding nine doubles.
Defensively, Pickford posted a .987 fielding percentage with just two errors on the season. She reached base safely in 47 of 51 games and recorded 15 multi-hit performances and five multi-RBI games. Among conference leaders, Pickford ranked third in the Atlantic 10 in runs scored and home runs, fourth in slugging percentage, hits, hit-by-pitches, and stolen bases, and fifth in caught stealing by.
In the classroom, Pickford was also named to the A-10 All-Academic Team after posting a 3.918 GPA during the fall semester while majoring in kinesiology.
Tess Altevers Harris earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the second straight year following another standout campaign in the infield. Starting 49 games and playing 36 in third base, Altevers Harris was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on February 10 and finished the regular season batting .315.
She led the Patriots in OPS (1.087), doubles (12), triples (3), home runs (10), slugging percentage (.650), and walks (21), while ranking second on the team in runs (35), hits (45), RBI (29), total bases (93), and stolen bases (15). Altevers Harris also ranked third on the team in double plays turned.
The senior reached base safely in 41 of 49 games and posted 13 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI performances. Among Atlantic 10 leaders, she finished tied for first in triples and hit-by-pitches, second in home runs, third in slugging percentage, fourth in OPS and doubles, and fifth in runs scored and stolen bases.
Freshman Alyssa Hopkins capped an impressive debut season by earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. Hopkins appeared in 43 games with 40 starts across catcher, designated player, and third base, while also earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors on April 28.
Hopkins led the Patriots with a .351 batting average and ranked second on the team in doubles (10) and on-base percentage (.444). She also finished third in hits (40), total bases (56), and slugging percentage (.491), while adding two home runs, five stolen bases, and 13 runs scored.
The freshman reached base safely in 34 of 43 games and tallied 11 multi-hit performances and three multi-RBI games. In the conference rankings, Hopkins finished tied for first in hit-by-pitches, eighth in on-base percentage, and seventh in runners caught stealing.
