Peyton Farley Builds Meaningful NIL Partnership with Yoga Commons

George Mason women's lacrosse student-athlete Peyton Farley turned a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunity with Yoga Commons into a meaningful partnership that created impact both on and off the field.

As someone who already embraced yoga and actively incorporated it into her lifestyle, Farley brought an authentic connection to the partnership from the very beginning. While recovering from surgery, Farley found value in prioritizing recovery, mindfulness, and wellness throughout her rehabilitation journey. Through her partnership with Yoga Commons and co-founder, Michelle Nguyen, Farley aligned those personal experiences with a local business focused on movement, recovery, and community engagement.

"Working with a student-athlete compared to traditional marketing has its tremendous benefits because it's authentic [and] all-natural," said Nguyen.

As part of the partnership, Farley helped promote Yoga Commons through social media content, brand storytelling, and community visibility while emphasizing the importance of recovery and mental wellness as a Division I student-athlete. The collaborative efforts of this NIL partnership ultimately led to Yoga Commons partnering with the entire George Mason Women's Lacrosse team to provide yoga and recovery sessions.

"Seeing my NIL partnership grow into something bigger has been really amazing," said Farley. "I was a little bit nervous at first about just creating a business deal but it has become something way more than that. I've built great relationships with people who go to Yoga Commons and also with Michelle."

This partnership highlights the true impact of NIL at George Mason Athletics, creating authentic relationships between student-athletes and the businesses community while opening doors for leadership, community engagement, and real-world professional development.

"This partnership is a great example of what NIL can truly become when it's built through authenticity and genuine connection," said Janard Estell, Director of Player Management & NIL at George Mason Athletics.

Farley's NIL success story is another example of how Mason student-athletes are leveraging their platforms to create meaningful partnerships that extend beyond athletics and positively impact the broader student-athlete experience.
