FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason baseball team completed a three-game sweep over La Salle with an 8-7 win in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at Spuhler Field.

THE LEADOFF
- Clyne had two hits including his ninth home run, three RBI and scored three runs.
- Sophomore left fielder Lucas Alberti had three hits, one RBI and scored a run.
- Freshman infielder Jackson Morse had a pair of hits, one RBI and scored two runs.
- The Patriots have won nine of their last 10 games.
George Mason (28-24, 18-12 A-10) took the lead against La Salle (24-31, 8-22 A-10) graduate student starter Owen MacDonnell in the bottom of the first before the first out was recorded. Morse singled through the left side, went to second on a wild pitch and scored when Clyne singled to left field. Alberti then singled to put runners on the corners and Terilli followed with a two-run single up the middle to make it 3-0.
The Patriots doubled the lead with one out in the bottom of the second. Canody singled and scored on a double by Morse and Clyne belted a two-run home run, his fourth homer in the last five games, to make it a 6-0 game.
In the bottom of the third, senior designated hitter
Evan Blanchard doubled to left field and freshman second baseman
Julius Bagnerise followed with a RBI-single to left field to extend to advantage to 7-0.
Las Salle loaded the bases against Patriots freshman starer
Aiden Parker in the top of the fourth with a walk and two hit batters, and forced in a run with a walk.
With two outs in the home have of the fourth, Clyne walked, stole second and scored on a single by Alberti to make the score 8-1.
In the top of the fifth, La Salle senior first baseman Alec Welshans hit a two-run home run off Hsu to trim the lead to 8-3. The Explorers added three runs on three RBI singles in the top of the sixth to pull within two runs, 8-6.
In the top of the ninth, La Salle put together a two-out rally against Patriots graduate student reliever
Tyson Willis with three straight singles to make it a one-run game.

Parker Thomas entered the game with Explorers on first and third and recorded a strikeout to earn his second save of the season.
For the Patriots, Parker (3-0) allowed one run on three hits in 3.1 innings and earned the win. Hsu gave up five runs, four earned, on three hits in 2.1 innings. Senior Shaun Okeefe pitched 1.1 innings and gave up one hit with one strikeout. Willis allowed one run on three hits in 1.2 innings.
Clyne went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and scored two runs. Alberti was 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Morse finished 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.
For the Explorers, MacDonnell (3-5) allowed eight runs on 11 hits in 4.0 innings and took the loss. Graduate student Josh Beck worked 4.0 innings of no-hit ball.
The Patriots begin the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship on Wednesday with the first pitch in the opening game scheduled for 11 a.m. at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va.
