FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University rowing team will put months of preparation to the test Saturday when the Patriots compete in the annual A-10 Championship.
The Green & Gold will head to Pennsauken, N.J., to race on the Cooper River against the conference's seven other programs.

"We're looking forward to the A10 Championship in a special way this year," head coach
Joseph Richards said. "The team has put in a lot of work throughout the year, on the ergs, on the water, in the weight room, in the classroom, to get to this point where we're feeling confident and ready to go. We can't wait to race."
George Mason will field a trio of boats which includes a Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+.
The Patriots' V4+ boat will kick off the action at 8:15 a.m. against crews from George Washington, La Salle and Saint Joseph's.
The 2V8+ boat will race at 8:45 a.m. against La Salle, George Washington and Fordham.
The V8+ wraps up the Patriot heats at 9:15 a.m. against Saint Joseph's, George Washington and Fordham.
Petite and grand finals commence at 11:30 a.m.
GMU is coming off an excellent performance at the Novak Metropolitan Championship on May 2. The Patriots posted six top-3 finishes between heats and finals on the day, highlighted by a heat victory by the team's Varsity 4+ crew and a pair of second-place finishes in finals from the Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+.
