FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason track & field teams are set to compete at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Saturday, May 2, through Sunday, May 3. For the third year in a row, George Mason will be hosting the A-10 Championships at George Mason Stadium. Tickets and additional information are available through the linked website.
Last season, the men's team claimed the outdoor title for the first time since 2019. The championship came down to the final two events of the meet, with Mason holding a razor-thin 0.5-point lead over Rhode Island. The Patriots' 4x400m relay team—Jordan Tuck, Lance Koontz, Aidan Walcott, and Joziah Johnson—delivered a clutch first-place finish. The title was officially secured in the final event, the decathlon 1500m, as Nicholas DeWolfe finished strong to push Mason ahead by 1.5 points over the Rams, the four-time defending champions.
Meanwhile, the women's team finished second overall, trailing UMass by 13 points. The George Mason women's track & field program last won the indoor title in 2023. Since 2014, George Mason, VCU, and UMass have accounted for every women's outdoor championship title. UMass departed the conference following last season.
Competition begins Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. with the men's hammer throw. The first day concludes with the men's 10,000m run at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, May 3, the meet resumes at 9 a.m. with the men's decathlon 110m hurdles. The men's 4x400m relay is scheduled as the final event of the 2026 A-10 Outdoor Championships at 2:55 p.m.
A complete meet schedule is available online, along with live results for real-time updates throughout the championship weekend. Both days of competition will be streamed on ESPN+ (Day One, Day Two). Coverage begins Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:50 a.m., and will continue through the conclusion of each day's events.
