The Patriots traveled a little further north to play Monmouth on Saturday and drove away with a hard fought 4-3 victory.
Unlike Friday, the Patriots did not open the scoring falling at all three doubles positions.
Maya Bayat pulled George Mason even with a quick 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
Monmouth went back ahead when Maitree Rout fell to her Hawk opponent at No. 2.
Mary Young shortly thereafter put Mason back even at 2-2 with a 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4.
It looked bleak for the Patriots as their No. 1 player,
Cenan Liu, was taking an injury time out due to a quad issue while
Shivaani Ganesh and Ravaka Ramanantoanina had both lost their opening sets and were behind in their second sets.
The host team went up 3-2 when Ganesh fell 2-6, 6-7(3) meaning the Patriots had to win both of the remains matches.
After the trainer had wrapped Liu's quad, she was able to battle through and pull the Patriots even with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win.
At this point Ramanantoanina, a first semester transfer from Averett University, had taken the second set to a tiebreaker winning it 7-5.
The entire team match came down to a one set tiebreaker, the first to win 10 points. Both players fought hard but Ramanantoanina was able to secure the Mason victory with her 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-7 come from behind win.
