FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason women's lacrosse earned Atlantic 10 postseason recognition as freshman Delaney Stup was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team, while graduate student Kaitlyn Bestick was selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team.
Stup made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, starting 15 of 16 games and totaling 21 goals and two assists for 23 points. She placed 35 shots on goal for a .778 shot-on-goal percentage and opened her career with a four-goal performance against Robert Morris. In addition to her offensive production, Stup contributed across the field with two ground balls, four caused turnovers, and four draw controls.
Bestick, a graduate student midfielder, earned All-Academic Team honors after excelling both on the field and in the classroom. She started all 16 games and recorded 29 goals and six assists for 35 points, while placing 53 shots on goal for an .815 shot-on-goal percentage. Bestick added nine free-position goals and totaled 22 ground balls, nine caused turnovers, and 32 draw controls. She also ranks 54th nationally in free-position goals per game (0.60). She will complete an accelerated bachelor's-to-master's degree in political science in just four years at George Mason, graduating this May.
