PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The George Mason track & field teams will send a select group of athletes to compete at the Penn Relays this weekend, held Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25 at Franklin Field. Fellow Atlantic 10 programs represented are Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Rhode Island, Richmond, and Saint Joseph's.
Accepted entries meet high qualifying standards set by meet officials for one of the nation's premier events. The Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, have been held at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field since 1895 and enter their 130th edition this year.
The meet will be streamed on FloTrack, with live results available throughout the weekend.

The George Mason track & field teams delivered a strong weekend across two meets, competing at the Virginia Challenge (April 17–18) and the Navy Spring Invitational (April 18).
At the Virginia Challenge, Caleb Hymans led the Patriots with a third-place finish in the men's 1500m (3:47.90). The 4x400m relay team of Jayden Apenteng, Aidan Walcott, Joziah Johnson, and Jordan Tuck placed second with a season-best 3:12.07, while the 4x100m relay squad of Jalen Johnson, Jordan Edwards, Matt Fisher, and Mason Samuels took third in 40.55. Joziah Johnson added a fourth-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a season-best 52.08.
In the field events, Kennedy Drish placed fifth in the women's pole vault (4.13m), and Kellen LaRoche finished sixth in the high jump (2.06m).
At the Navy Spring Invitational, four women's distance runners recorded personal-best performances.
