HILTON. HEAD, S.C. - George Mason women's tennis was defeated by conference rival, George Washington 4-0 in a PTR Spring Tennis fest match up.
George Mason played their opening SpringFest match in Hilton Head, SC against A10 foe, George Washington. After a two hour rain delay, the Patriots battled the Revolutionaries but fell short by a 0-4 score.
The Mason highlights were the No. 3 doubles team of
Noelle Talarek and Ravaka Ramanantoanina who were leading their opponents when the doubles point was decided.
In the singles the Patriots No. 1 player,
Cenan Liu, had battled back from a first set loss to take the second set. Cenan had just started the third set tiebreaker when GW clinched the overall match.
The Patriots play their second match of SpringFest tomorrow at 9am when they take on North Carolina Central.
