FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason softball (6-9, 0-0 A-10) continues its homestand this weekend at the GMU Softball Complex as the Patriots open Atlantic 10 Conference play against Fordham. The Patriots and the Rams will meet in a three-game series featuring a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Fordham enters the matchup with a 5-9 overall record. Last weekend, the Rams competed at the FIU Classic, facing South Dakota, FIU, and Harvard in a doubleheader. Fordham split games on both days, shutting out South Dakota 3-0 and defeating Harvard 6-5 in eight innings in the second game of the doubleheader.
Neleh Nogay leads the Rams offensively with a .400 batting average, along with 10 runs scored, and 20 hits. Kate McGuire has recorded four doubles, while Eva Koratsis leads the team with two triples and eight RBIs. Victoria Klimaszewski has accounted for Fordham's only home run of the season.
In the circle, Fordham holds a team ERA of 3.87 and has allowed 61 runs this season. Holly Beeman leads the pitching staff with a 2.30 ERA in 24.1 innings pitched. Olivia Simcoe has logged the most time in the circle with 35.2 innings pitched, posting a 3.53 ERA, and recording five complete games. Simcoe has totaled 18 strikeouts, while Beeman has 16.

The Patriots faced the Georgetown Hoyas in a midweek matchup on Wednesday, March 4. After a six-game losing skid, George Mason earned a 3–1 victory against the DMV opponent. Logan Pickford blasted a triple that was inches away from leaving the park in the bottom of the fifth inning, sparking a two-run frame to put the Patriots on the board.
