BURKE, Va. — George Mason University defeated the University of Richmond 4-2 on Friday at the BRSC. The Green & Gold secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and claimed singles wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4.

George Mason secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Edgar Vilain and Niza Simunyola posted a 6-3 win over Paxton Pritchard and Sam Rathmanner at No. 2 doubles, while Shari Saeed and Deniz Okyay claimed a 6-3 victory against Otto Sewell and Charlie Burdell at No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 1 doubles, featuring Monil Lotlikar and Ekansh Kumar against Davis Wiley and Cole Brashear, was left unfinished.

In singles play, the Patriots extended their lead with wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles. Lotlikar defeated Pritchard in a three-set match, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4, at No. 2 singles. Kumar secured a straight-sets victory at No. 3 singles, overcoming Burdell 6-4, 7-6(4). Simunyola completed a comeback at No. 4 singles, defeating Sewell 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, clinching the match for the Green & Gold with the fourth point.

Richmond gained points at No. 1 and No. 5 singles. Wiley won over Okyay with a 7-6(4), 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles. Atkinson added another point for Richmond by defeating Vilain 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. The match at No. 6 singles between Brashear and Saeed was left unfinished, finalizing George Mason's victory at 4-2.
