Patriots Face James Madison in Midweek Matchup

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason softball (13–15, 3–6 A-10) returns home to Fairfax to face the James Madison Dukes (15–14, 3–3 SBC) at the GMU Softball Complex on Wednesday, March 25. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., and admission is free for all attendees.

The matchup against JMU will be available to watch on ESPN+ and can also be followed via the live stats website.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Dukes are coming off a 1–2 series loss to Coastal Carolina. After dropping the first two games, JMU rebounded with a dominant 17–2 victory in five innings in the series finale. In that game, the Dukes hit home runs from Emma Jo Evans, Emily Legrand, and Kylee Gleason. Kirsten Fleet and Taylor Johnson split time in the circle, with Johnson earning the win. 

Kendra Lewis leads JMU with a .464 batting average, along with six doubles and seven home runs. Emma Jo Evans is batting .388 and has scored a team-high 23 runs, while Kylee Gleason leads the team with 37 hits. 

In the circle, JMU holds a team ERA of 5.57, having allowed 223 hits and 168 runs. Taylor Johnson owns the team's best ERA at 4.79 across 45.1 innings pitched. Payton List has logged the most innings (62.2) and leads the team with 70 strikeouts, while posting a 6.37 ERA. 

The Dukes have dominated the all-time series against George Mason, holding a 28–3 record. The Patriots will look to snap a 15-game losing streak against their in-state opponent. 

LAST TIME OUT 
Over the weekend, the Patriots were swept by the Saint Joseph's Hawks in a three-game conference series in Philadelphia, with scores of 5–4, 7–3, and 2–1. 

During the series, Kamryn Inman posted a .444 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. She recorded four hits—at least one in each game—along with one RBI, one walk, and one stolen base. 

Tess Altevers Harris recorded a .545 on-base percentage and an impressive 1.125 slugging percentage. She totaled two runs, three hits, two RBIs, two home runs, two walks, and one stolen base over the series.
