HILTON HEAD, S.C. — George Mason women's tennis fell to N.C. Central with a final score of 1-6 on Tuesday at the Hilton Head Spring Tennis Fest. The Green & Gold secured its lone point with a singles victory at the No. 3 position.

N.C. Central secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 1. The pairing of Valeria San Miguel and Mariana Zottoli delivered a 6-2 win over Brooklyn Siegel and Maya Bayat at No. 2 doubles, followed by Sara Barbaric and Patricia Palencia's 6-3 victory against Cenan Liu and Mary Young at No. 1 doubles. The Patriots' Noelle Talarek and Ravaka Noemie Ramanantoanina claimed a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles over Journee Henderson and Gabriela Mejia.

In singles play, North Carolina Central extended its lead with San Miguel's straight-sets win, 6-2, 7-5, over Maitree Diksha Rout at No. 2 singles. Alejandra Hidalgo added another point for the Eagles with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Liu at No. 1 singles. Bayat provided a point for the Green & Gold by overcoming Palencia in a three-set match, 2-6, 7-5, 10-7, at No. 3 singles.

North Carolina Central clinched the match with Zottoli's 7-6(2), 7-5 decision over Young at No. 4 singles. Barbaric furthered the Eagles' advantage by defeating Talarek, 7-6(5), 6-3, at No. 5 singles. The final singles point came as Valentina De Aquino outlasted Siegel, 6-3, 6-7(4), 12-10, at No. 6 singles, rounding off the Eagles' 5-1 overall victory.
