TYSONS, Va. – George Mason senior starter and redshirt-sophomore reliever Brant Ertel combined on a no-hitter in the Patriots 3-0 win over Lehigh on Sunday night at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va.

Rumberg struck out six over six innings of work and Ertel worked the final three innings with two strikeouts to notch his first collegiate save.

George Mason (4-5) took the lead against Lehigh senior starter Cole Leaman in the bottom of the second.  With one out, freshman Julius Bagnerise walked, stole both second and third, and scored on a sacrifice bunt by junior designated hitter Matthew Westley to put the Patriots in front, 1-0.

The Patriots added to the lead in the home half of the sixth against Mountain Hawks senior reliever Shane O'Neill and sophomore reliever Cole Kochanowicz.

Graduate student center fielder Luciano Terilli led off with a double and with one out, Lehigh made a pitching change.  Bagnerise singled up the middle and junior right fielder Vincent Cowdrey dropped down a safety squeeze, with Terilli scoring on the play to make it 2-0.  Westley then drove in the final run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center field for the 3-0 final score.

For the Patriots, Rumberg (2-1) worked 6.0 innings with six strikeouts and four walks and earned the win.  Ertel pitched the final 3.0 innings with two strikeouts to record his first career save.

For the Mountain Hawks, Leaman (0-2) allowed one run on two hits in 5.0 innings.  O'Neill gave up one run on one hit and retired one batter in the sixth inning.  Kochanowicz surrendered one run on three hits in 2.2 innings of work.

The Patriots are back on the diamond for a pair of midweek games this week.  George Mason travels to face James Madison on Tuesday with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. in Harrisonburg, Va. before returning for the home opener on Wednesday against Towson with the first pitch slated for 2 p.m. at Spuhler Field.
