FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason Women's Tennis is set to open its 2026 spring duals season with back-to-back matches against the University of Mary Washington and Delaware State.
Event: Match vs University of Mary Washington
When: Friday, February 6 at 4 p.m.
Where: Fredericksburg, Va.
After a duo of postponed matches, the George Mason women's tennis team begins its Spring season against the University of Mary Washington on Friday afternoon. George Mason leads the series between the two teams 11-3, dating back to February 2009. In their last meeting, the Patriots defeated the Eagles 6-1 on February 21, 2025.
Event: Match vs Delaware State
When: Saturday, February 7 at 6:45 p.m.
Where: Burke, Va.
Venue: BRSC
The Patriots continue their weekend against Delaware State on Saturday evening at the Burke Racquet & Swim Club. George Mason tightly leads the series between the two teams, 4-3. The Green and Gold look to get their first duals win against the Hornets since February 2023.
2025-2026 Season:
The Patriots are coming off a hard-fought, strong victory over Rider University, defeating the Broncs 4-3 in their duals opener in the Fall of 2025.
In duals play, juniors
Brooklyn Siegel and
Noelle Talarek are undefeated in both singles and doubles. Siegel partnered with sophomore
Maya Bayat to pull out the critical doubles win against Rider. Sophomore
Shivaani Ganesh also earned a singles win in her last dual match. Senior Maitree Diksha Root has one doubles victory in duals play.
Junior
Cenan Liu tallied six singles wins in tournament play. Liu partnered with junior
Mary Young to take three doubles wins in tournament play. Junior
Lakshya Motam and Senior
Avleen Waraich partnered for two doubles tournament wins while Motam has also secured two singles wins in tournament play.
This spring season, the Patriots are also joined by mid-year transfer
Ravaka Noemie Ramanantoanina, a Madagascar native who was named the 2024-25 ODAC Rookie of the Year.
