FAIRFAX, Va. — George Mason's men's and women's cross country teams are set to begin postseason play this Saturday, Oct. 31, at the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Championships in Mechanicsville, Va., hosted by the University of Richmond.
The women's championship 6k will kick off the day at 10 a.m., with the men's championship 8k shortly thereafter at 10:50 a.m.
Both races will be held at the iconic Pole Green Park, which is hosting its seventh A10 Championship (2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024). Pole Green Park has also played host to a pair of USATF National Cross Country Championships in 2023 and 2024.
The Patriots men's team will look to build on its fourth-place finish at last year's A10 Championship. Behind stellar seasons from graduate student
Alex DeRoussel, who boasts a pair of individual titles this season; senior
Biruk Beardsley, who earned A10 All-Conference honors with a fifth-place finish in last year's conference championship; and junior
Tarek Benlamkaddem, George Mason vaulted into the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Regional Rankings, landing at No. 14.
On the women's side, senior
Sarah Clark has led the Patriots through the back half of their 2026 campaign, pacing George Mason in each of its last two meets. The Patriots finished sixth at last season's A10 Championships, behind
Ella Semple's individual title.
The men's and women's teams will each be looking to dethrone Loyola Chicago, which captured both team titles in 2025.
