Annapolis, Md – The George Mason women's tennis team opened the 2025-26 campaign at the 16th Annual Bill & Sandra Moore with one consolation championship.
The annual tournament featured five singles and three doubles flights. The Patriots competed against individuals from seven teams at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium and Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.
Shivaani Ganesh started her sophomore career by winning the Flight D Consolation. The native of Telangana, India, Ganesh lost her first match against Mackenzie Lee from Navy, 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 before winning three straight matches. In the consolation semifinal, she defeated Mary Washington's Olivia Geoghegan, 6-0, 6-0, and won the finals match 6-0, 6-1, against Kayla Castellano from Binghamton University.
Junior
Brooklyn Siegel began the season by winning her Flight C Round of 16 match. The Chicago native won the match 6-1, 6-0, defeating University of Mary Washington's Evelyn Snyder before a loss in the semifinal. Siegel also teamed up with sophomore
Maya Bayat, to defeat Mary Washington's Jacey Copeland and Olivia Geoghegan 6-3, in a doubles match.
Senior
Avleen Waraich teamed up with junior
Lakshya Motam to earn a Flight C Doubles win. The pair finished the quarterfinal match with a 6-2 win versus Alice Ann Pantsari from Lehigh University and Gabriela Blumberg from St. Bonaventure University before suffering a loss in the semifinal to Navy's Anna Wiskowski and Grace Li.
