FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics
Marvin Lewis announced that Head Tennis Coach Steve Curtis has signed a three-year contract extension.
The veteran coach is entering his 22nd season and will remain at the helm through the 2027–28 season.
"Steve has elevated George Mason Women's Tennis by building a competitive program that thrives both on the court and in the classroom," said Lewis. "He has fostered an environment where student-athletes excel grow, and lead, and we look forward to his continued impact in shaping the future of our women's tennis program."
Curtis, who has guided the tennis program since the 2004-05 season, has produced multiple All-Conference honorees and earning recognition for his team's academic achievements. In his tenure, he led the team to a school-record 21 wins in the 2009-10 season and has posted double-digit wins in all but six regular seasons at Mason.

Academically, Curtis's teams consistently rank in the top 10% nationwide for NCAA Academic Progress Rates, earning multiple ITA Academic Awards and producing numerous Provost Scholars.
Earlier this year, Coach Curtis was honored with the prestigious Dave Borelli Leadership Award at the OCCTA Tennis Conference and served as a featured speaker at the event.
