FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Marvin Lewis announced today that Head Men's Tennis Coach Jimmy Davis has signed a three-year contract extension.

"We are excited for Coach Davis to continue guiding the future of our program," said Lewis. "Jimmy has built competitive teams, elevated George Mason's profile in the Atlantic 10, and helped shape our student-athletes into leaders on and off the court. This extension affirms the foundation he has established for George Mason men's tennis and positions the program to achieve even greater success in the Atlantic 10 and beyond."

Now entering his 11th season as head coach, Davis has guided Mason men's tennis to more than 70 victories, while mentoring student-athletes who have excelled both on the court and in the classroom.

Since taking the helm in 2015-16 after serving as an assistant coach, Davis has coached multiple players to All-Atlantic 10 awards. His teams have achieved historic milestones, including Momin Khan becoming the first Patriot to win a match at the prestigious ITA All-American Championship in Fall 2021, and Monil Lotlikar advancing to the Round of 64 at the same event in 2022. In Spring 2021, Mason earned its highest-ever No. 5 seed at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Academically, Davis' teams have consistently done well in the classroom. In the past seven seasons, 28 Patriots have earned the top academic distinction in collegiate tennis as ITA Scholar Athletes, including a team high six Patriots in 2020, 2021 and 2024.

"I'm honored to continue leading Mason Tennis for the next three years," said Davis. "Coaching at George Mason has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and I believe deeply in what we're building here — a program defined by hard work, accountability, and pride. Our players inspire me daily, and I'm excited to keep pushing this team forward as we strive for excellence on and off the court."

A former Patriot standout himself, Davis played three seasons for Mason. He earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors his senior year while competing primarily in the No. 1 singles position and finishing with a 16-9 singles record. He also garnered All-CAA Second Team honors as a junior.

Beyond his work at Mason, Davis has coached at the ATP's Citi Open and serves as CFO and Director of High Performance at A Plus Tennis.
