Fairfax, Va.— George Mason Senior Deputy AD/COO Ashton Henderson announced today the appointment of Jeff Danaher as the new Assistant Athletic Director of Major Gifts, where he will lead philanthropic efforts to support the growth and success of George Mason Athletics.

Danaher brings more than 20 years of experience in athletics, athletics development, and academic advancement to the role. Known for his strategic and relationship-driven approach, he will focus on strengthening donor engagement, advancing fundraising initiatives, and building programs that position Mason Athletics for long-term success.

"Jeff's deep knowledge of Mason, combined with his extensive experience in advancement and athletics, makes him an incredible asset to our department," said Henderson. "We are confident his leadership will elevate our fundraising efforts and build lasting connections that benefit our student-athletes and programs."

Though new to the Athletics Development team, Danaher is no stranger to George Mason. Over the past four and a half years in University Advancement, he played a key role in driving major initiatives including the FUSE building at Mason Square, the President's Innovation Advisory Council (PIAC), and the Military, Veteran, and Family Initiative (MVFI). These experiences, he shared, "deepened my appreciation for the transformative power of philanthropy and the passionate community that drives Mason forward."

In his new role, Danaher is excited to combine his professional expertise with his passion for student success and community engagement. He will collaborate closely with George Mason's dedicated alumni and fan base to create philanthropic opportunities that enhance student-athlete experiences, support competitive success, and strengthen the university's culture of excellence and innovation.

Outside of his professional life, Danaher is a proud husband to Heather and father of six children—three daughters, Alissa, Joey, and Camryn, and three sons, Riley, Landon, and Jameslee.
