FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason senior
Biruk Beardsley has been named the
Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Beardsley earned the honor after an impressive season-opening performance at the
Spider Alumni Open on Saturday in Richmond, Va. Competing in a strong regional field, Beardsley finished the
6K race in 18:02.5, leading the Patriots and placing among the top individuals in the meet.
The award marks the first A-10 weekly honor of the 2025 season for Beardsley, who returns as one of Mason's top distance runners after a standout 2024 campaign.
With Beardsley leading the charge, Mason placed fifth overall in the men's team standings against programs including Virginia, William & Mary, and Richmond.
