Fairfax, Va. -- The George Mason Patriots (1-5-1, 0-0) are slated to host the American University Eagles (0-5-2, 0-0) on Sunday, September 14 at 1 p.m. The match will be held inside George Mason Stadium. This will be Mason's last non-conference match before they take on George Washington on Sunday, September 20. During halftime of the GW match, the 1985 alum will be honored for their national championship. 
The Green and Gold are looking to extend their winning streak to two games after taking down Loyola Maryland on Thursday, 1-0 in Baltimore, thanks to a goal scored by sophomore 
Isabella Yousefi, assisted by forward 
Vanessa Sarf. The Patriots are finally clicking just in time for conference play, they're looking to be competitive in the A-10 Conference this season. 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES 
The Eagles are led by Jennifer McGuire, Nariah Goldman, and Avery Klingensmith, the only goal scorers this season. McGuire and Goldman have two, and Klingensmith has found the net once. Jennifer McGuire and Nariah Goldman also lead the Eagles in Points, with five and four, respectively. American has sported two keeper so far, Addison Roemer and Tamera Taylor-Moore. Roemer has been the main goalkeeper this season, logging 405 minutes, to Taylor-Moore's 225. Roemer has allowed six goals among 18 saves, while Taylor-Moore also conceding six goals, with 14 saves. 
HISTORY AGAINST AMERICAN
The Patriots maintain a 5-2 all-time advantage over the Eagles, with the last matchup in August 2-16. The Patriots knocked off American 2-1 at home.

The Patriots added 11 players for the 2025 season. Freshman goalkeeper 
Kylie Brookfield (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) along with midfielders 
Julia Buono (Oradell, N.J.), 
Adriana Bonanno (Holly Springs, N.C.) and 
Kasey Maida (Burke, Va.) are beginning their GMU careers.
 
Forward 
Aaliyah Schinaman (San Mateo, Calif.), and midfielders 
Jordan Felton (Waldorf, Md.) and 
Ariana Reyes (Washington, D.C.) are graduate student transfers looking to make their mark this season.

PATRIOTS SCHEDULE
The George Mason University women's soccer team's 2025 schedule features a competitive slate of matchups highlighted by regional rivalries, Atlantic 10 battles, and a strong mix of home and away contests. The Patriots will play 18 regular season matches, including 10 at home at George Mason Stadium.
George Mason began the campaign with a 1-1 draw on the road at William & Mary on Thursday, August 14.
The Patriots wrapped up August with a four-game stretch that included home matches against Delaware and James Madison, followed by road games at Villanova and UPenn.
The Green & Gold rounded out the second-to-last non-conference matchup with a win against Loyola Maryland, 1-0. The Patriots will have one last chance against American to polish off their offensive and defensive schemes before heading into conference play. 
A-10 play ramps up shortly after with a matchup at home against George Washington on Saturday, September 20, before hitting the road for contests at Richmond (Sept. 25) and La Salle (Sept. 28).
October brings the heart of conference play, starting with a home clash against St. Bonaventure on Thursday, October 2. After a visit to Duquesne on October 5, the Patriots will then host VCU on October 11.
The Green & Gold will close out the regular season with four more A-10 matchups, hosting Davidson (Oct. 16), traveling to Fordham (Oct.19) and Dayton (Oct. 23), and finishing at home against Saint Joseph's on Sunday, October 26.
