FAIRFAX, Va. – Six student-athletes on the George Mason women's tennis team have been named ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athletes, while the Patriots have been awarded an All-Academic Team designation.
Maya Bayat, Shivaani Ganesh,
Brooklyn Siegel,
Lauren Splett,
Noelle Talarek, and
Mary Young have been recognized with the individual academic achievement award.
"I am very proud of the emphasis our program and the players place on their academics," said Head Coach Steve Curtis. "We strive for excellence in the classroom as well as on the court."
This is also the eighth straight season in which the Patriots combined to win the team award. To qualify, a program must post at least a 3.2 GPA collectively to earn the honor.
To qualify for the individual award, a student-athlete must carry a GPA of at least 3.5 and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
