Men’s Tennis Announces 2025-26 Signing Class

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's tennis head coach Jimmy Davis has announced the signing of three student-athletes who will compete for the Patriots, beginning in 2025-26.

The talented group includes incoming freshmen Adrià Franco, Nicholas Novitzki, as well as Norfolk State transfer Deniz Okyay.

"Deniz brings a lot of experience at a high level and Adrià and Nick are extremely talented young additions for us. I believe all three players will contribute to the lineup immediately and help us make a big push in conference next year. I'm looking forward to having them on campus so we can get to work."

Adrià Franco – Freshman • 5-7 • Lleida, Spain 
Fraco joins the Patriots after a celebrated juniors career in Spain. He attended Col·legi Episcopal de Lleida and also played for Club Tennis Lleida under coach Xavier Salmerón. He ranked in the top-350 U-16 players on the European continent (peaking at #322) and also advanced to the finals of the Club Tennis Urgell Tournament on the European U-16 circuit.

Nicholas Novitski – Freshman • 6-0 • Frederick, Maryland
Novitski attended Oakdale High School in Frederick, where he was a three-time Player of the Year, as well as three-time all-county and all-region selection. A 2025 Maryland state champion, he tallied an undefeated mark as a senior in both the county and region and also garnered academic all-conference accolades. He played his club tennis for Tennis Plex.

Deniz Okyay – Junior • 5-9 • Ankara, Turkey (Norfolk State)
A two-time All-MEAC selection at Norfolk State, Okyay went compiled a 29-13 singles record over his two seasons with the Spartans. He also went 4-1 in conference play as a sophomore and amassed a 14-2 overall singles mark at the No. 3 position in 2024-25. A three-time MEAC Rookie of the Week in 2023-24, Okyay earned First Team All-MEAC honors as a freshman and garnered eight doubles wins on the campaign. He was an all-conference first team selection at Nesibe Aydin Science High School in Ankara.
