FAIRFAX, Va - Three standouts from the George Mason Softball team have received Atlantic 10 postseason awards, the conference announced Tuesday. Juniors Elyssa DeRosa and Tess Altevers Harris were named to the All-Conference Second Team, while freshman Abbey Lane secured a spot on the All-Rookie Team.

A-10 Softball End of Season Awards

Elyssa DeRosa's impact for George Mason was undeniable in 2025, thanks to a season that combined offensive consistency with defensive perfection. She started all 53 games and led the Patriots with a .307 batting average and a .422 on-base percentage. Her discipline and patience at the plate were clear with 26 walks, contributing to a team-high .422 OBP.

DeRosa recorded 47 hits, including eight doubles and six triples, ranking third in the Atlantic 10 for total triples and triples per game (0.12). Her six triples also tied her for fifth all-time in program history for triples in a single season. Despite not hitting any home runs, she produced 19 RBIs and added 67 total bases. On the defensive side, she was flawless, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. DeRosa's ability to spark the offense and lock down her position in the field made her a critical component of the Patriots' success.

Tess Altevers-Harris had a breakout 2025 season, cementing herself as one of the top offensive threats in the league. Her explosive performance included leading the Atlantic 10 in triples (7), a mark that also ranked her 6th nationally. She's tied for 4th in the program's single-season record for triples and broke into the top-10 all-time for home runs in a season at George Mason with six, ranking her 6th in school history. Across 45 games, she compiled a .285 batting average and an outstanding .593 slugging percentage—both a testament to her power and timely hitting.

Altevers-Harris also led the Patriots in RBIs (26) and was a clutch performer, earning Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors on March 24. With 35 hits that included six doubles, seven triples, and six home runs, she was a constant threat at the plate. On defense, she recorded 137 total chances with a .927 fielding percentage, showing she could contribute to all aspects of the game. Her impact in 2025 extended beyond the box score, delivering key performances in crucial moments and helping elevate the Patriots' offense.

Freshman pitcher Abbey Lane quickly established herself as a key player for George Mason, earning Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team honors in her debut season. Lane led the Patriots with a 2.48 ERA, which ranked 4th in the Atlantic 10 conference. She appeared in 24 games with 12 starts, compiling a 5–7 record and throwing 96 innings. Her efficiency and poise on the mound were clear as she struck out 54 batters and held opposing hitters to a .238 average.

Lane was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on March 10th and consistently proved her value in both starting and relief roles. She completed six games, ranking 10th in the A-10, and added two saves, placing her 6th in the conference in that category. Her two saves also tied her for 3rd all-time in George Mason history for saves in a single season.
