FAIRFAX, VA – George Mason University women's tennis student-athlete
Cenan Liu has been recognized with an Atlantic 10 Postseason Award, the league office announced Monday.
The sophomore earned a spot on the All-Atlantic 10 Second Team.
Liu moved from playing #3 last year as a freshman to the top singles position this season, a spot that competes against nationally ranked players. Cenan was competitive in many of those matches that don't show up on the stat sheet, winning in eight of her matches when the team match was decided. The Markham, Ontario native also played the top doubles position with
Lauren Splett.
"Cenan has been a bright spot playing as our top singles player," said Curtis. She has continued to work and improve throughout this season. This honor is well deserved."
This is the first all-conference honor since
Paige La earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team in 2023.
The three major awards as well as the All-Conference teams were voted on by the A-10 women's tennis head coaches. The All-Academic team was chosen by the league's communications directors.
