Fairfax, Va.- George Mason University's track and field teams are set to host the prestigious IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships this weekend at George Mason Stadium. The event, scheduled for May 17–18, will feature top athletes from across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including several standout Patriots aiming to cap off their season with strong performances.
The IC4A and ECAC Championships serve as a premier postseason meet for NCAA Division I track and field programs. The event is renowned for its competitive fields and serves as a key qualifier for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds.
George Mason enters the meet as the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Champions with
Geni Roberts named as the Most Outstanding Field Performer. The women's team came a close second but are the current champions of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships. Both programs will compete as A10 Champions.
The competition kicks off on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with the IC4A hammer throw, followed by a full slate of events on Saturday and Sunday, including sprints, hurdles, relays, and field events. The meet will conclude on Sunday with the ECAC 4x400m relay.
Admission is free, and fans are encouraged to attend and support the Patriots as they compete against some of the region's best talent.
