Patriots Drop Game Against Georgetown, Jordan Tallman Records 100th Career Strikeout

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason Patriots dropped their midweek game against Georgetown, 5-3

Senior Jordan Anderson (1-5) started in the circle today. She pitched 2.0 innings and gave up six hits and five runs. She recorded one walk and one strikeout.
 
The Hoyas came out hot and scored four runs off five hits in the top of the first inning. Rehban laid down a bunt for a base hit, then Fenton singled through the left side to get runners on first and second. Strittmat hit a three-run home run over the right-center field fence to take the lead 3-0.
 
Campos walked and Pardini singled through the left side to have runners on first and second. Koo singled over the first basemen's head, scoring one more run, making it 4-0.
 
George Mason scored their first run in the bottom of the first off one hit and one error. Elyssa DeRosa walked, and Tess Altevers Harris laid down the bunt for a base hit and advanced to second off a throwing error. DeRosa scored on a wild pitch, making it 4-1.
 
Georgetown kept it going in the top of the second, scoring one run off one hit. Strittmat stepped up and hit her second home run of the day over the left field fence, Giving the Hoyas a 5-1 lead.
 
Haleigh Dellow came in to pitch in the top of the third. She pitched 2.0 innings and gave up one hit and no runs. She recorded one walk and one strikeout.
 
In the top of the fifth, Jordan Tallman made an appearance in the circle. She pitched 3.0 innings and tied a career-high six strikeouts. She gave up no hits and no runs. With her second strikeout, she recorded her 100th career strikeout in a Patriots jersey.
 
The Patriots were able to get one more run on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Jasmine Mack singled to right field and stole second and third. Emma Salzman grounded out to first, scoring Mack, making it 5-2
 
In the bottom of the seventh, the Patriots scored one run off two hits. Jasmine Mack singled up the middle, and Emma Salzman singled up the middle. The final score was 5-3.


UP NEXT

The Patriots are back at home this weekend April 12th for a doubleheader against Saint Joseph's starting at 12:00 p.m. George Mason finishes the series April 13th at 12:00 p.m.
