BRONX, N.Y. – The George Mason Patriots lost both games of their doubleheader today against the Fordham Rams, 2-1 and 7-3
GEORGE MASON 1, FORDHAM 2
Freshman
Abbey Lane (4-6) started in the circle for game one against the Rams. She pitched a complete game and gave up five hits and two runs. She walked three batters and had four strikeouts.
The Rams got the first run on the board in the bottom of the first off two hits. Nogay singled to third base, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Sudall stepped up and hit a single up the middle, scoring a run, 1-0
The Patriots tied the game in the top of the fourth inning.
Kamryn Inman laid down a bunt to get on base, stole second, and advanced to third, tagging on a pop fly.
Madi Sobota singled through the left side, scoring the run, 1-1.
Fordham scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sudall homered to right field, making it 2-1.
GEORGE MASON 3, FORDHAM 7
In game two of this series,
Kylie Wilkerson (4-5) started in the circle. She pitched 2.0 innings and gave up four hits and five runs. She recorded two walks and one strikeout.
The Patriots struck first in the top of the first inning. They scored one run off two hits.
Elyssa DeRosa singled through the middle, and
Tess Altevers Harris doubled to right center field.
Logan Pickford grounded out to shortstop but scored a run (1 RBI), 1-0.
The Rams responded in the bottom of the first inning, scoring four runs off two hits and two errors. Nogay singled to shortstop then stole second. Sudall singled to the pitcher, and McGuire reached first on a fielding error, scoring one run. Hoppe reached on a fielder's choice, and Wells scored on a wild pitch, 4-1.
Fordham scored one more run in the bottom of the second off two hits.
George Mason got the bats going in the top of the third inning, scoring one run off three hits.
Elyssa DeRosa doubled to right field, and
Tess Altevers Harris doubled to center field scoring a run, 5-2.
Kamryn Inman singled to shortstop, and
Logan Pickford reached on a fielder's choice.
Jordan Anderson came in to pitch in the bottom of the third inning. She pitched 2.0 innings and gave up two hits and one run.
Harlowe Nigh made an appearance in the bottom of the fifth inning. She pitched 2.0 innings and gave up three hits and one run. She recorded one strikeout.
The Patriots added another run to the board in the top of the sixth inning.
Emily Lampela doubled to center field, and
Jessica Chan singled to shortstop scoring Lampela, and making it 6-3.
Fordham scored a run off two hits and one error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Sudall reached on a fielding error, Nesturrick singled down the right field line, and Hoppe singled through the left side, making it 7-3

th) in the three-game series against the Fordham Rams, with first pitch being at 11:00 a.m.
