FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason Patriots dropped game one against Loyola Chicago, 1-0.

Senior
Jordan Tallman (2-6) made her 11
th start in the circle today. She pitched a complete game, giving up five hits and one run. She recorded a career-high nine strikeouts.
Elyssa DeRosa recorded the Patriots' first hit of the day in the bottom of the first, a double to left field, her eighth of the season.
In the bottom of the second,
Maya McGowan hit a single to the pitcher but was ultimately left on base.
Tess Altevers Harris singled up the middle, and DeRosa singled on the left side in the bottom of the third. An error by the Ramblers got runners to second and third, but both were left on base.
Senior
Charlotte Montgomery made a beautiful diving catch in center field in the top of the fifth inning.
Loyola Chicago scored the only run of the game in the top of the sixth off one hit and one Patriot error. Owens singled to center field and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Wallace laid down a bunt, and a throwing error allowed a run to score.
Kaylee Stinnett made an appearance in the bottom of the seventh inning as a pinch hitter
