FAIRFAX – George Mason concluded its season with a setback in the first round against Duquesne today at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Tennis Championship held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
Slotted the No. 11 seed, the Patriots (6-14, 1-7 A-10) fell, 4-0, to No. 6 seed Duquesne.
After a long battle in doubles, Duquesne took the opening point, winning both matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by a 6-4 score.
In singles, the Dukes went up 3-0 with two-set wins at No. 5 and 6 singles before the final point was earned at No. 2 singles. Three matches were unfinished.
At the top singles position,
Cenan Liu won the first set, 7-5, and was in the second set when the match ended. The No. 4 singles match was in the tie-breaker set. Mason's Noelle Talrek won the first set 6-0 before the match was even with a 6-4 win by opponent Aleandra O'Brien in the second.
