George Mason (10-4) took the lead for good against Longwood (4-10) freshman starter Alex Strickland in the bottom of the first.  With two outs, Quinn-Irons singled to shortstop and raced all the way around from first base on Butler's single to left-center to put the Patriots in front, 1-0.

In the second, Hueber led off with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.  Graduate student first baseman Jonny Wall walked and junior right fielder Drew Canody was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

With two outs, Hueber rumbled home on a wild pitch and Hull drove in a pair of runs with a single through the left side to increase the lead to 4-0.

In the third, the Patriots sent 11 batters to the plate and scored seven runs on four hits, two walks and one hit batter.

Butler led off the inning with a walk and with one out, Hueber singled.  Both players then moved up a base on a balk.  Junior shortstop Owen Clyne then drove in a pair of runs with a single to extend the advantage to 6-0.

With two out in the inning, five straight Patriots reached base against Lancers graduate student Isaiah Brewington.  Canody knocked in a run with a single to make it 7-0.  Freshman left fielder Lucas Alberti walked and Hull was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Quinn-Irons, who drove a two-run single up the middle to pad the lead to 9-0.  Butler then reached on an error with two runs crossing the plate to make the score 11-0.

In the home half of the fifth, Alberti led off with a single and Hull followed with a RBI-double down the right field line for the 12th run of the game.  With one out, Butler knocked in a run with a single and on the play, he raced all the way around the bases to score on a throwing error to make it 14-0.

George Mason sent eight batters to the plate in the sixth and scored four more runs against Lancers freshman Kaiden Takahashi-Trader and junior Caleb Grizzard.

The Patriots loaded the bases before Hull forced in a run with the fourth free pass of the inning.  Quinn-Irons then plated a pair of runs with a single and Butler followed with a RBI-single for the 18-0 final score.

For the Patriots, O'Hara (1-1) allowed just one single in the fourth inning.  He struck out six without a walk in the game, and recorded 12 groundouts, six strikeouts, one pop out and one fly out.

Quinn-Irons went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run singles and scored two runs.  Butler was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.  Hull finished 2-for-3 with four RBI and scored three runs.
