th annual Redhawk Invitational, freshman
Vaughn McMeans leads the Patriots and the field heading into the final round at the famed Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place.
McMeans has a one-stroke lead over UC Riverside's Hartej Grewal and St. Thomas (MN) Matt Armstrong after carding a three-under-par (70-69=140). He carded four birdies in each round.
Samir Daidov is in striking distance two-strokes behind McMeans and tied for fourth on the leaderboard. The duo led the Patriots a tie with three other schools for third place heading into the final on Tuesday. George Mason is only three strokes behind the leaders Utah Tech and St. Thomas (MN) in the 18-team tournament.
Participating Teams: George Mason, UC San Diego, Oregon State, George Washington, Eastern Kentucky, UC Santa Barbara, Creighton, Sacred Heart, Utah Tech, Sacramento State, Lamar, UC Riverside, Idaho, St. Thomas, Abilene Christian, Penn, and North Idaho will compete.
History at the Redhawk Invitational: The George Mason golf team finished fifth at the 2024 Redhawk Invitational. The Patriots finished a team seven-over-par 571 (287-284-268=859) tied with Gonzaga, only one stroke behind UC San Diego. Sophomore
