The George Mason women's tennis team fell to Richmond today in an Atlantic 10 Conference match held at the Westhampton Tennis Complex in Richmond. The Patriots fall to 5-9, 0-4 in the Atlantic 10. The Spiders improve to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Richmond swept all three doubles matches to clinch the opening point.
In singles action, the Spiders won the first three matches to clinch the victory. Lara Bakhaya defeated the Patriots
Cenan Liu 6-2, 6-0 at #1 singles, while Abby Lee
defeated Mary Young, 6-1, 6-1 on court two. Richmond's Claire Le Du delivered the clinching point at #3 singles, defeating
Maitree Diksha Rout, 6-3, 6-0. The matches n courts four, five, and six were left unfinished with George Mason's
Shivaani Ganesh leading, 6-4, 2-3, in the No. 6 match.
