FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team hosts Massachusetts for a three-game conference series this weekend. The Patriots play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29
th starting at noon and a single game on Sunday, March 30
th at noon.

A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
The Patriots just dropped their midweek game against Towson, 4-3. George Mason had the lead 2-0 before the Tigers struck back in the top of the fifth inning and scored four runs.
Madi Sobota and
Kamryn Inman recorded two hits.
Emma Salzman came in to pinch hit and recorded her second hit of the season, and
Elyssa DeRosa recorded her sixth triple.
This week,
Tess Altevers Harris has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week. She went six for nine, and all her hits were extra-base hits. She recorded two doubles, two triples, and two home runs in the series against St. Bonaventure and had a 2.000 slugging percentage.
Maddy Johnson has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. She also went six for nine, scored four runs, and had two RBIs and two stolen bases.
As a team, the Patriots are ranked first in the Atlantic 10 conference for home runs (17), stolen bases per game (2.06), and total stolen bases (64). They also rank first for triples (15) and first for triples per game (1) ranking seventh nationally.
Elyssa DeRosa is first in the conference in triples (6), ranking her fourth nationally, and
Tess Altevers Harris is second for triples (4), ranking 16
th in the nation.
Emily Lampela leads the conference in hit by a pitch (7) and
Kamryn Inman is ranked second in the A-10 for stolen bases (14).
Harlowe Nigh and
Abbey Lane are ranked second in the conference for saves (2), ranking them 47
th nationally.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

The Minutemen are coming off a 2-1 series loss against George Washington.
Riain Keefe leads the team with a .284 batting average. She has 19 hits, eight runs, and four RBIs. Riley Kairer is second on the team with a .268 average. She has recorded 19 hits, 11 runs, and three RBIs. Kairer leads the team with three triples and is ranked third in the A-10 for triples per game (0.12). Odyssey Torres and Sarah Keagy both have one home run.
Pitchers Julianna Bolton and Natalee Horton are ranked second in the A-10 for complete games (5). Bolton is ranked third for games started (12) and ranked seventh for saves (1).
As a team, the Minutemen are ranked second in the Atlantic 10 for triples (6) and third for triples per game (0.23). They rank third in shutouts (2) and fourth for doubles (29)
George Mason and Massachusetts last met in April of last year. The Patriots won the series 2-1.
