FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason softball team hosts Towson University on Tuesday, March 25^th, at 3:00 p.m. for a single game. It's Support Staff Appreciation Night, where the team will recognize those who support the team.
 
A LOOK AT THE PATRIOTS
This week, Tess Altevers Harris has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week. She went six for nine, and all her hits were extra-base hits. She recorded two doubles, two triples, and two home runs in the series against St. Bonaventure and had a 2.000 slugging percentage.
 
Maddy Johnson has been named Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. She also went six for nine, scored four runs, and had two RBIs and two stolen bases.
 
This past weekend, the Patriots swept the series against St. Bonaventure 3-0. Logan Pickford had a stand-out performance with five hits, five runs, and three RBIs. Kamryn Inman recorded four hits, five runs, and three RBIs, and Elyssa DeRosa recorded three hits, one run, and one RBI.
 
As a team, the Patriots are ranked first in the Atlantic 10 conference for home runs (17), stolen bases per game (2.07), and total stolen bases (62). They also rank first for triples (14) ranking seventh in the nation, and first for triples per game (1) ranking eighth nationally.
Logan Pickford is second in the A-10 for doubles (8) and doubles per game (0.30). Elyssa DeRosa is first in the conference in triples (5), ranking her seventh nationally, and Tess Altevers Harris is second for triples (4), ranking 16^th in the nation.
 
Harlowe Nigh and Abbey Lane are both ranked second in the conference for saves (2), ranking them 47^th nationally, and Jordan Anderson is first in the conference for earned run average (1.83).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

Towson is coming off a 2-1 series loss against Campbell University.
 
Kristin Toland is leading the Tigers with a .361 batting average. She has 30 hits, 22 runs, and 22 RBIs. Grace Franczyk is second on the team with a .315 average. She has 23 hits, 13 runs, and 21 RBIs.
 
Pitcher Amanda Medina is ranked second in the CAA for games started (13) and ranked ninth for innings pitched (66.0). Cadence Williams is ranked second for saves (2) ranking her 47^th in the nation.
 
As a team, the Tigers are first in the CAA for triples (14) ranking them seventh in the nation, and first for triples per game (0.50). They rank second in their conference for slugging percentage (0.473) and total runs (166). The Tigers are first in the CAA for doubles (48) and doubles per game (1.71)
 
The Patriots and Tigers last met in March of 2024, where George Mason pulled away with a win 12-4 at home in Maryland.
