FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason Patriots won both games today against St. Bonaventure to earn their first series sweep of the season.
GEORGE MASON 8, ST. BONAVENTURE 4
Freshman
Abbey Lane (4-4) started in the circle in game one today. She pitched four innings and gave up three hits and three runs. Lane walked four and had six strikeouts.
George Mason struck first in the top of the second inning. The Patriots scored three runs off three hits and one error.
Tess Altevers Harris stepped up and hit a home run to left field,
Kamryn Inman tripled to right center, and
Maya McGowan singled up the middle.
The Patriots scored two more runs in the top of the third inning. Altevers Harris hit a double to left center, and Inman singled down the left-field line, making it 5-0.
St. Bonaventure got their first run on the board in the bottom of the third. Wang reached on a fielder's choice to shortstop, and Stull doubled to left field and advanced to third on a fielding error, making it 5-1.
The Bonnies scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lomelin walked and Jacques tripled to right center scoring a run, 5-2. Dundon reached on a fielder's choice and Recrosio hit a sacrifice fly scoring another run, 5-3.
In the top of the fifth inning, Altevers Harris tripled to right field, and Inman reached on a throwing error, 6-3
Harlowe Nigh came in to pitch for the Patriots in the bottom of the fifth inning. She pitched three innings, giving up three hits and one run. She walked three batters and had one strikeout. She earned her second save of the season.
St. Bonaventure scored one more run in the bottom of the sixth inning off two hits. Jacques singled up the middle, Recrosio walked, and wang singled through the left side, 6-4.

Logan Pickford singled to center field in the top of the seventh inning, followed by a single by Inman, scoring a run, and a single by

In game two of this series, St. Bonaventure came out and got one run on the board in the bottom of the first. They scored one run off two hits.
Haleigh Dellow started in the circle for game two. She pitched four innings and gave up five hits and three runs. She recorded two strikeouts and two walks and earned her first win of the season (1-0).
George Mason evened the score 1-1 in the top of the second inning. Pickford walked and Altevers Harris tripled to right field, scoring the run.
St. Bonaventure scored two more runs in the bottom of the second inning off three hits. Recrosio singled to shortstop, Jacques singled to shortstop, and Wang tripled to right field, 3-1.
The Patriots scored the go-ahead run in the top of the third inning. DeRosa doubled to center field, Pickford singled through the left side, and Altevers Harris doubled to left field, making it 4-3
In the top of the fifth inning,
Madi Sobota hit a home run to left center field, making it 5-3.
Emily Lampela was hit by the pitch and Pickford doubled to left center, scoring another run, 6-3
Kylie Wilkerson came in to pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning. She pitched three innings and gave up two hits and zero runs. She earned her first save of the season.
Maddy Johnson laid down a bunt for a single in the top of the sixth inning and
Jasmine Mack reached on a fielding error, scoring a run, 7-3
The Patriots scored their last three runs in the top of the seventh off four hits. Pickford singled down the left field line, and Altevers Harris hit her second home run of the day, scoring two, 9-3. Inman singled to center field and stole two bases to get to third.
