Fairfax, Va. – The NCAA released the brackets and seeds for the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships that opens on March 20 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The George Mason men's wrestling team will be represented by three individuals at the national tournament held March 20-22.
The Patriots
DJ McGee (Stafford, Va./Bullis Prep),
Kaden Cassidy (Bedford, Pa./Bedford), and
Malachi DuVall (Centre Hall, Penns Valley Area) earned bids to compete at the NCAA Championships.
The Patriots match last year's number of qualifiers, including McGee and DuVall who will be returning to the championship. McGee heads to the tournament as the MAC Champion, while DuVall and Cassidy earned one of the MAC allocations with third place finishes.
McGee is slotted as the No. 17 seed, while DuVall is 21, and first-time NCAA qualifier
Kaden Cassidy goes into the tournament in the No. 27 slot.
The three qualifiers were a big reason why George Mason finished the season with an 12-6 record, and its best finish in the MAC (6-2). For the third consecutive season the Green and Gold have double-digit wins. After back-to-back 11-win seasons, GMU won 12 this season, which is the most wins in a season since the 2007-08 season when the Patriots finished with a 13-5 record.

GEORGE MASON NCAA QUALIFIERS
149 | Kaden Cassidy (19-4)
Cassidy punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship earning one of the three NCAA allocations for the MAC with a third-place finish at the conference tournament.
Kaden Cassidy earned his first trip to the NCAA Championship. The redshirt junior battled his way through wrestle-backs with four straight wins to finish third. The junior enters his first NCAA Championship as the #27 seed. Cassidy will battle the #6 seed Lachlan McNeil of North Carolina. A member of the Canadian World Team, McNeil is a three- time qualifier, finishing fourth and sixth at two previous NCAA Championships.
157 | DJ McGee (21-5)
McGee defeated #21 Johnny Lovett from Central Michigan in the championship bout to claim his first MAC Championship and earn his second trip to the NCAA Championship. He returns to the NCAAs as a higher seed, No. 17, then the #22 seed in 2024. McGee finished 1-2 in his first NCAA Championship. Indiana's Brayton Lee needed sudden victory to defeat McGee in his first bout as an NCAA Qualifier, SV, 4-1 in 2024. The Stafford, Va. native defeated Sonny Santiago in the consolation round 1, 4-2 to earn his first NCAA victory. McGee will open the tournament pitted against #16 Iowa State's Cody Chittum, also returning to the NCAAs.
184 | Malachi DuVall (17-5)
DuVall punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship for the second straight season with a third-place finish at the MAC Championships, earning one of the three conference NCAA allocations. After dropping his semifinal match, the Centre Hall, Pa. native recorded two falls en route to finishing in third place. The junior earned a fall against Ohio's Olszko (3:43) and Colin Fegley (4:12). Malachi is seeded No. 21 and will take on #12 seeded Silas Allred of Nebraska in the opening round. Allred is a former Big Ten Champion and a two-time top 12 NCAA finisher.
