Track and Field Travels to Boston and Blacksburg for Two Meets this Weekend

George Mason will return on the road after hosting a successful home meet with the Patriot Games. The Patriots will be divided into two groups, one will be traveling to Blacksburg for the Doc Hale Invitational and the other group will go to Boston University for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational. 
 
Recently, Arsalan Yaqubi was named the Field Performer of the Week after an immense performance in the weight throw event at the Patriot Games. Arsalan placed 1st in his event with a mark of 19.55m, a new personal best and the best score in the A10 conference. It is also the 7th highest mark in the Southeast region. 
 
The Doc Hale Invitational will be a two-day meet beginning on Friday, February 7th. The first event is set to start at 1 pm with the men's pole vault-unseeded. The running events will begin at 5 pm with the men's mile and will continue until 8:55pm with the women's 3000m concluding the first day of the meet. On Saturday, February 8, the events will resume with the women's triple jump at 11am and the first running event to begin at 2 pm with the men's 500m run. To end the meet, the final race will be at 4:35 pm with the women's 4x400m relay.
 
Up north at Boston, another group of Patriots will be competing in the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White on February 8th. The first event is set to begin at 11 am with the women's 5000m run. The first field event of the meet is set to start at 11:30 am with the men's pole vault followed by the women. To finalize the weekend, the final event is set to begin at 6:55 pm with the men's 4x400m relay.
