RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason University men's tennis team (2-2) fell at VCU (5-5) by the score of 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
In singles, junior
Monil Lotlikar picked up a great win at the No. 2 position, knocking off Nicolo Consonni in straight sets. He won the first set, 6-4, then claimed a 6-3 victory in the second.
At No. 2 doubles, senior
Jacco Arends and junior
Zavan Fahim claimed a 6-3 win over VCU's Consonni/Mantach. And the Patriots nearly claimed the overall doubles point with a near miss at No. 1. Lotlikar and junior
Ekansh Kumar took the top VCU team to the brink at 6-6, but ultimately fell in the tiebreaker, 7-4.
The Patriots are now off until the program's annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. First up in the PTR Springfest is Grace College (Ind.) on March 11 at 12 p.m.
