Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |
FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason put together a statement performance on both ends of the field, overpowering Lindenwood 16-11 in a dominant home win. The Patriots (3-2) controlled the pace from start to finish, handing the Lions (2-1) their first loss of the season.

Dahlia Trippel was unstoppable, leading all scorers with seven goals, while Kate Anders added five to fuel Mason's offensive explosion. Daniella Jimenez and Catherine Pollard also found the back of the net, while Kaitlyn Bestick contributed in multiple ways with a goal and three assists.

George Mason started strong, jumping out to a 5-4 lead after the first quarter, highlighted by early goals from Pollard, Anders, and Jimenez. Trippel added a man-down goal in the final minute to give the Green & Gold the edge. The Patriots extended their lead in the second quarter with a three-goal run, as Anders struck twice and Trippel added another, helping the Patriots take a 9-5 advantage into halftime.

Lindenwood made a push in the third, cutting the lead to 9-7, but George Mason quickly responded. Jimenez, Anders, and Trippel each found the back of the net, while Bestick assisted on two scores to keep the Patriots in control, extending their lead to 15-8 entering the final quarter. Despite a late surge from Lindenwood, Trippel capped her stellar performance with her seventh goal in the closing minutes, sealing Mason's 16-11 victory.

Defensively, goalkeeper Regan Bestick was a force, making 13 saves to stifle Lindenwood's attack. The Patriots' efficient clearing game (17-for-19) and dominance in ground balls and draw controls helped them maintain possession and dictate the tempo.
