FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason split their two games on Sunday afternoon. In their first game against Niagara, the Patriots fell 3-1. Then, in the second game, the Patriots pulled away with the win in five innings, 12-4.

GEORGE MASON 1, NIAGARA 3
In game one, senior pitch
Jordan Anderson (1-0) started in the circle for the Patriots. She pitched 5.2 innings and had three hits, one run, and no errors.
Both teams were quiet in the first two and a half innings. There was only one hit by George Mason at the bottom of the first inning and two hits from the Purple Eagles at the top of the third inning, but all players were left on base.
Elyssa DeRosa got things going for the Patriots in the bottom of the third inning with a triple off the center field wall.
Madi Sobota stepped up to bat and knocked DeRosa in with a single up the middle (1 RBI), getting George Mason on the board, 1-0.
In the top of the sixth, Niagara had a runner on first, and an error made by the center fielder near the wall put a run on the board for the Purple Eagles, 1-1.
Jordan Tallman came in to pitch in the top of the sixth inning. She pitched for 1.1 innings and had four hits, two runs, and two errors.
The Purple Eagles continued with the hits in the top of the seventh inning. A single to right field and a single up the middle got runners on first and second. Natasha Limbani stepped up and hit a single up the middle, scoring a run to give Niagara the lead, 2-1. Then Lindsay Mayo hit a double to left field, scoring the last run of the game for the Eagles to go up 3-1.
GEORGE MASON 12, NIAGARA 4
In the Patriots' second game, Sophomore
Haleigh Dellow (0-0) started in the circle. She pitched 1.2 innings and had five hits, four runs, and two errors.
In the top of the first inning, Niagara's Natasha Limbani hit a single toward shortstop, and then Lindsay Mayo hit a double to left field, putting a runner in scoring position. A sacrifice fly earned the Purple Eagles one run on the board, 1-0.
The Patriots responded in the bottom of the first, scoring four runs off two hits and two errors, leaving one on base.
Emily Lampela and
Logan Pickford recorded singles, and
Kamryn Inman reached first on an error by the first baseman.
Abbey Lane came in to pitch at the top of the second. She pitched 3.1 innings and had two hits, zero runs and zero errors.
The Purple Eagles scored three runs in the top of the second inning off three hits and one error and left three people on base. Gibbons reached first on an error and advanced to second, Limbani doubled to right field, then Mayo doubled to left field to tie the game 4-4.
The Patriots secured the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Scoring seven runs off six hits and one error, leaving one person on base.
Kaitlyn Bronowicz doubled to left field and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Emily Lampela hit a double, scoring two runs;
Kaylee Stinnett stepped up and hit a two-run home run, and
Logan Pickford and
Kamryn Inman hit singles. The Patriots had an 11-4 lead after this inning.
George Mason scored one more run in the bottom of the fourth after
Kamryn Inman hit a single toward third base.
Jessica Chan hit a single up the middle, scoring Inman.
