CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – On the second day of the Tar Heel Invitational, George Mason split their two games. The Patriots lost to Princeton, 17-4, and later beat Drexel, 11-1.

GEORGE MASON 4, PRINCETON 17
The Patriots were the designated home team in their first game of the day, with sophomore
Kylie Wilkerson starting on the mound (0-0).
Emily Lampela got the Patriots going in the bottom of the first inning with a home run, putting the Patriots up 1-0.
The Tigers responded in the top of the second with Karis Ford hitting one over the wall to even the score, 1-1. Princeton then got two more runs off four hits and zero errors, leaving two on base to take the lead 3-1.
Princeton kept the energy going with Sonia Zhang hitting a double scoring two runs, and Abby Hornberger hitting a three-run home run to put the Tigers up 9-1 in the top of the third.
Julia Dumais stepped up to bat and hit a two-run home run to put the Tigers up 11-1.
Elyssa DeRosa got the Patriots going in the bottom of the fourth with a single up the middle.
Maya McGowan walked, then freshman
Jasmine Mack hit her first career home run to get three more runs on the board, 11-4
Princeton got six runs in the top of the seventh inning off six hits and zero errors, making it 17-4.
Jasmine Mack assisted on a double play to get the Patriots out of the inning.
GEORGE MASON 11, DREXEL 1
In the Patriots' second game, senior
Jordan Tallman (1-2) started in the circle.
Kamryn Inman got things going for the Patriots with a double down the left field line.
Logan Pickford then doubled to left center field, earning a run on the board, 1-0.
In the top of the third, Drexel reached first base on a Patriots error, then Izzy Alamillo singled and advanced to second on a throw to home. A double from Lana Mooney got the Dragons on the board, 1-1.
Elyssa DeRosa was on first base when
Emily Lampela stepped up to bat and hit a double down the left field line, scoring a run.
Maya McGowan hit a single to right center field, scoring DeRosa, 3-1.
In the bottom of the fourth inning,
Kamryn Inman got another hit, a single to left field, and
Logan Pickford reached first on an error by the catcher.
The Patriots scored seven more runs off six hits and zero errors in the bottom of the fifth.
Maddy Johnson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat the Dragons 10-1.
